IB DP- BIOLOGY

Job Purpose:

  • • To plan, promote, facilitate development and co-ordinate all science activities across school (MYP& DP).

Reports to: HOD - Science

Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, develop and deliver courses of study in Biology to a range of classes according to Neev curriculum guidelines and school requirements.
  • Development of Key Skills in Biology across all grades.
  • Develop and present lesson plans by using a variety of teaching models and techniques in the subject areas. Use of relevant technology to support teaching.
  • Prepare and procure resources to support delivery of the science curriculum including Laboratory facilities.
  • Research new topic areas, devising and writing new curriculum course materials in science as required.
  • To keep up to date with national and international developments in the subject area and teaching practice and methodology. Make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Keeps the coordinator/s and head/s informed about the overall functioning of the Science Department.
  • To plan, organize and facilitate all science activities/ science projects in school, and also prepare students for intra and inter school science meets.

Qualifications:

  • Should possess a Masters or higher qualification in Biology with relevant teaching qualification.

Lab Technician

Reports to:Head of Science Department

Work Timings :8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Monday to Friday, and on defined working Saturdays.

Job Summary :The Lab Technician is responsible for the smooth functioning of all three science laboratories in accordance with the standards specified by the IB school.

Duties:
Laboratory preparatory work

  • Scientific knowledge and understanding and ability to handle lab equipment.
  • Organize and prepare the labs for class sessions and examinations.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in the prep lab.
  • Work with teachers and head of the science departments to plan.
  • Work with the teachers and follow guidelines while setting and adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain, construct and operate equipment.
  • Carry out tests to verify material supplied.

Inventory Management

  • Create and follow a process oriented approach towards managing all lab requirements.
  • Identify materials required for all labs and liase with procurement team.
  • Maintain a check on stock and prepare purchase orders in time to ensure timely delivery of material.
  • Liase with vendors and ensure material purchased is the best quality and approved by the department head.
  • Check material for expiry and manage disposal of waste.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Science

Experience Required

  • 2 to 6 years experience as a lab technician in a leading ICSE or IB school

HEAD OF LIBRARY

Position Overview:

  • The Librarian is responsible for collaborating with teachers to effectively use the library as a teaching and learning centre with their students and as a professional development resource. The Librarian is responsible for working with students, parents and teaching staff to deepen understanding of literacy practices, children’s literature, information literacy and ongoing development and implementation of conceptually based units of inquiry.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Purpose:

  • Project manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.

Duties:

MANAGER SAFETY & SECURITY

Reports to:Head -Administration

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative responsibilities for the grade school and preschools:

  • Supervise security and facilities staff; review contracts and agreements and set high standards of performance.
  • Ensure the background verification of all support staff is done through the external agency.
  • Ensure support staff are trained on routine tasks pertaining to managing the facility and on handling emergencies and vigilance duties.
  • Supervise catering and cafeteria to ensure high standards of excellence and hygiene are maintained.
  • Ensure CCTV camera’s are at all required locations, are in working condition and are monitored.
  • Maintain all equipment, tools and plant in a safe and good condition; liaising with external suppliers and services where necessary.
  • Maintain the school grounds to a high standard including all lawns and beds; ensure grounds are litter free.
  • Provide porter and furniture moving service to ensure supplies are in place and school activities can proceed as expected.
  • Participate in and ensure that the site is kept clean, tidy and attractive in order to minimise risks to the health and safety of those using the school site and to ensure the activities of the school can take place in an environment suited to learning.
  • Ensure the safety of all staff and students at all locations. Follow the safety manual and make necessary amendments when required.
  • Ensure the Neev schools are compliant with legal requirements on safety and security
  • Manage the Vigilance and Emergency Response Team meetings and training to ensure all members are actively involved in meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Ensure mandatory school committees operate in accordance with the legal requirements.
  • Ensure the fire drills and safety and first aid training is conducted and all related equipment is in working condition

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any stream.
  • Preferred Ex-Defence personnel.
